We noticed our son who has ADHD (also possible Autism) seeked fluffy soft textures wherever he went. When at  home he wanted to be wrapped in a blanket or fluffy onsie. When it was time to leave the house he found it hard to leave his comfort texture behind but the items he was wearing was not appropriate to wear outside the home.
We saw the problem and wanted to assist him. We handmade him a fluffy scalf in a Navy colour that was light weight, fluffy, discreet and smart. The first time he wore it to school we explained that it was his comfort texture and he was allowed to wear it within school to help regulate and calm. 
Our son now wears his scalf when at home and when  it is time to leave the house he  doesn't need to leave his comfort texture at home. Instead he wears it with his coat or even just over his jumper.
